Ultra Fudgy Brownies

June 4, 2009

Who says vegan brownies can’t be rich and fudgy?  These are decadent tasting, fudgy, and are free of wheat, eggs, dairy or refined sugars, yet contain healthy fats. Could there be anything better?

Crisp on the edges with a slightly sandy texture and flavor that’s not too sweet, these gluten-free confections are the perfect light dessert with tea.

With a boost of protein from sunflower seeds, these also make a great mid-afternoon snack!

I’ll also be offering an electronic version of the book as a pdf file through my blog, Diet, Dessert and Dogs.

Check back after mid-May for more updates!  :)

(Looks rather patriotic, doesn’t it?)

Those of you who read my other blog, Diet, Dessert and Dogs, may recognize some of these photos. :)

The book is 172 pages long with six chapters and over 100 recipes.

I’ll be posting the entire list of recipes in a future post–so stay tuned!

Moist and chewy yet not too sweet, these cookies satisfy with oats, apples, raisins and other good things.  And they’re gluten free!

My Mother’s Cheesecake

February 4, 2009

Light, lemony “cheesecake” filling in a cookie crust and criss-cross cookie topping.  This is my adaptation of a classic homemade cheesecake my mom used to make.

If you live in the general Toronto area, please check this blog post to enter the contest and gain a chance to sample these treats for yourself–before the book is even published!

And if you don’t live in the Toronto area, there’s still a chance to win a RitterSport peppermint chocolate bar, so head on over anyway!
